Let’s
begin, shall we? (Week 6)
This week was about addressing our
setback from last week. As mentioned before our P. stutzeri plates were contaminated by a bacteria species the research
group didn’t know. So, Time for identifying what it is. The initial experiment
started with taking the contaminated plate and try to get more samples of the
foreign bacteria (unknown pink). The best way to do that is to inoculate the “Unknown
pink” into a fresh TSB tube. TSB stands for Trypticase Soy Broth (liquid), a
media where almost all bacteria grow. Once the bacteria are incubated, I’ll
have enough of the bacteria sample to run multiple tests.
